However, I had noticed some really negative comments, so I thought I'd see for myself. The last time we stayed here was late Sep 2006. We remembered the Fam Camp as being very nice. When we drove the Fam Camp this time in Oct 2022, it was atrocious.
Close enough to the freeway but without the noise. Very clean, level sites, with concrete pads, small trimmed trees, and well kept lawns at each site. We enjoyed the stay and will visit again when in the area. Arrived late for one night stop over. Paperwork was at office for late arrivals. I would have appreciated larger site numbers as this is a large park.
White River Campgrounds
If you are looking for a family friendly RV park or campground this one may fit the bill. Please be advised that the campground is NOT closed. They repaved the roads and as of mid-June the place is wide open with brand new roads. Big rig friendly, clean, utilities all work. It is first-come, first served but the park average around 50-75% occupancy while we where there.
Our information, reviews and photos suggest that if you have an electric powered device this destination has electric service available. Special rules will likely apply so check with park regarding the pet rules. If you like camping with pets this campground or RV park is an option. This has become a dump, its no better than some of the trashy RV parks in towns across the US.
Pontiac Park Usace
Under the leaves, in between sites, on the edge of the roads...every where! Dogs run freely here, and people don't ever seem to pick up after them. This means that the flies here are INSANE! If I could give 6 stars I would.
The strength and availability of wifi will likely vary but this park does provide some level of wifi internet service. Swimming - Offers swimming opportunities. Swimming may be available at a pool, a swim lake, in the river, or a dedicated swim area. If you are camping here bring the swim trunks along. Open - Open sky above your site. There are sites with no shade or obstruction offering an open sky setting for RV satellite tv signal or star gazing.
Sites
As usual these g7 parks are very nice. I wish other parks allowed that. After camping mostly on dirt or gravel, it’s nice to be on a huge,clean cement slab for a change. They do allow you to use a propane fire pit and they sell propane here. The cell service is 4 bars but Verizon throttles down the bandwidth so it’s still slow.
Well kept park with green grass. Pool and hot tub area is also well maintained. As of today, nicest Good Sam park we have ever stayed in and the prices are very reasonable.
Firs class RV park with super friendly staff. We were here for just an overnight, but could have stayed for the winter. Urban - Situated within an urban setting.
If you need a campsite with sewer hookups this campground or RV park offers them. Electric - Offers electric service to the sites. This electric service may be 20 amp, 30 amp, or 50 amp and may or may not be available at all campsites.
Level concrete pad with nice grass area. I slept late and was leaving just by check out and it was obvious the grounds crew was anxiously awaiting my departure. I would stay again if passing through. Did not use facilities or have contact with staff. Interior roads, sites, registration area, hookups, recreation, swimming, security, laundry, store and building maintenance... The second rating category concerns the cleanliness and physical characteristics of toilets, walls, showers, sinks/counters/mirrors and floor.
The new sections have young trees so not much shade there but the old section has plenty of shade. There isn’t much of a dog barking problem here. And they had a spot waiting for us. Previous reviewer was right - don't pass this one by.
All in all, if you have to be plugged in for awhile, this is about the best facility out there. At midnight, I heard custodial staff making small talk over by the showers, and it was louder and lasted longer than it should have. The restrooms are extremely clean, the park is beautiful with wide spaces and groomed lawns. The staff is very helpful and we will absolutely stay here again.
This place should be the poster child for RV parks of the future. One of the best parks we have stayed in anywhere period. We are considering coming back here as a summer destination. I wish this company could build 150 more parks like this across the country to relieve the site crunch we all deal with. We have stayed in enough campgrounds over the years, to know a great place.

Wonderful swimming pool and grass with paved streets. Don and Diane welcome you to a beautiful resort overlooking lake Norfolk. You will find this place with great RV sites, nice cabins, a boat dock for your use and a swimming pool for your relaxing.
