THE 25 BEST 2 Week Cruises to South America Prices & Itineraries on Cruise Critic

2 week cruise

Different atmosphere, different food, different entertainment and may be some different ports too. Regardless of the itinerary, recognize that on longer cruises, the shipboard experience is a major consideration. The goal for the day is to see lots of animals, hope for a clear view of the mountain itself, and get off the bus for a short hike. Most Denali hikes are off-trail, so only go where you’re confident you can make your way back to the main road to catch a bus back. It’s a cool place to walk even if you don’t stray far from the road.

More importantly, you don’t want to miss Talkeetna Roadhouse’s sourdough hotcakes, birch syrup, and reindeer sausage. Expect this to be a full day of driving, especially with summer roadwork and lots of RVs slowing down traffic. Now, I’ve walked on glaciers in Juneau and in Iceland, but neither of those trips compared to the Advanced Trek with Mica Guides.

From non-stop beats and endless craft cocktails to cabanas with exclusive plunge pool access and a personal attendant, this is your adults-only weekend in paradise. Start your adventure with some good old-fashioned southern hospitality in Galveston, Texas. Don’t miss the city’s must-see landmark buildings and bustling Pleasure Pier.

Traveling With a Toddler to Perfect Day at CocoCay Royal Caribbean Cruises

Soak up all the adventure on 2, 3 or 4-night cruise sailing from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or Port Canaveral (Orlando). Our quick weekend getaway cruises are bar-raising adventures designed to change the way you vacation. Whether you’re into action-packed thrills or beachside chill, you’re just one click away from relaxation mode. I’d be in agreement with Flatbush Flyer in respect of repeating identical itineraries. However, careful planning on more distant destinations can bring great port experiences.

Instead of spending a day in St Thomas imagine spending a day in Barcelona, Rome, Florence, etc. That can certainly mix things up a bit in a lot of areas. Different food, entertainment, atmosphere, etc might be nice.

We have cruised out of both Miami ( though we didn’t know it was b2b at the time!) and Tampa where we got off on the changeover day, walked around town for a couple of hours and got back on. This year we’ve booked back to back Southampton to Reykjavik and return. Gives us double up at three Iceland ports and only one of them seems excursion light. However, whether late  COVID times will make a difference just have to wait and see. I found a 2 week cruise out of Galveston for Jan 2025.

Best Weekend Cruises from Florida Royal Caribbean Cruises

Some cruises go to Glacier Bay (like this one) while others go to Hubbard Glacier. I’ve been to both, recommend both, and wouldn’t stress over which one you get to go to. You’ll have a good time on either glacier cruise. While I was planning my first Alaska trip, I thought the scenic cruise day was a marketing ploy.

Night A Grand Journey From The Mississippi Delta To Maya...Details

With over a decade of experience in the travel industry, Jeffrey has developed a reputation as a trusted advisor for those seeking unforgettable Caribbean and/or World cruise experiences. For those times when you simply want to get where you’re going and pack even more into your holiday, we offer fly-cruises, perfect for a 2 week cruise getaways. Combining the speed and convenience of air travel with the luxury and excitement of cruising, what's not to love.

Plan Your Perfect Quick Weekend Getaway

Then board your ship and sail on a short cruise getaway to the beautiful shores of Mexico and the western Caribbean. At first pass, the thought of a month long cruise (on, at least, a premium line) may seem out-of-reach in cost when compared to a couple of two-week cruises on a mass market line as an alternative. But I would give this advice to the OP.  When you start moving into longer cruises it also opens up a cruise world that goes way beyond simple back to backs in the Caribbean. There are cruises to and around all 7 Continents with some amazing itineraries. Instead of getting into the rut of "more of the same" consider expanding your horizons to other parts of the world.

If the turn around day is in a US Port you need to deal with the "zero out" process which means debarking the vessel and clearing immigration (before the eventual reboarding or heading off into town). It also means two final nights with the usual last night shows, announcements, etc......two embarkation evenings, etc.   None of this stuff helps with the idea of relaxation and a seamless experience. To us, back to back 7 day cruises feel like back to back 7 day cruises and not a 14 day cruise. No matter which coast you’re on, you don’t need a lot of days off to enjoy a short weekend getaway.

On the Pacific Coast, weekend cruises from Los Angeles, San Diego or Long Beach in California (near Los Angeles) head to Ensenada, Mexico for a quick getaway. Farther north, you might find a short repositioning sailing between Seattle or San Francisco and Vancouver, British Columbia at the beginning or end of the Alaska cruise season. The most likely scenario is that you'll arrive at your ship Friday afternoon for a three-night cruise, which will deliver you back to port on Monday morning. Depending on your working hours, you might need to take a half day off on Friday and arrive late to work on Monday. If you've got a flexible schedule or Fridays off — no problem.

The days of the two-night cruise to nowhere are gone, but two- and three-night weekend cruises still exist from ports ranging from Miami to Los Angeles.

I still remember how long it took to plan a trip to Alaska the first time. The options were overwhelming and I wasn’t an experienced traveler. My first thought was to look into package cruisetours — but I had no interest in joining a busload of tourists in exchange for thousands of dollars.

2 week cruise

It’s a long day on Prince William Sound, but not too long to handle even as a beginner paddler (although I don’t recommend going without ever having tried before). This is the most expensive thing I’ve done in all of Alaska and it’s worth every penny. From Matanuska Glacier, it’s almost 4 more hours to Valdez, but you should still make it in daylight thanks to long summer days. You’ll need an early start to make the 2-hour drive out to Matanuska Glacier for a day of ice trekking.

If it's a roundcruise a longer cruise goes to other ports. Passenger ships, stellar cabin amenities and service plus excellent cuisine and no nickel/diming for things like beverages, internet, specialty restaurants, etc. The most popular tour in Skagway is a day ride on the White Pass Railroad, originally built for the gold rush. It’s known for gorgeous views along the ride, vintage cars, steep grades, and pretty impressive engineering. If you’re going to do it, take the train one-way and bus the other so you can see Emerald Lake and a few other photo stops. Ketchikan is one of the rainiest cities in the USA with an average of 141 inches of annual rain.

Our upcoming sailings are packed with countless exciting options filled with bucket list destinations. For any cruises listed, Cruise Critic does not guarantee any specific rates or prices. In addition, average cruise prices are updated nightly. Several premium/luxury lines spend six months or more traversing multiple regions with minimal port repetition and even a fair share of transoceanic trips in the mix.
